Bambu Lab Patent Application Describes a New Heated-Bed Design

Introduction: Shenzhen Tuozhu Technology, Bambu Lab's parent company, has described a heated-bed design in a U.S. patent application intended to improve heat distribution across the build plate.

A Heater Between the Bed Body and Bottom Cover

U.S. patent application US20260264331A1 from Shenzhen Tuozhu Technology describes a layout in which a heating element sits in a recess on the underside of a rigid build-plate body, with a bottom cover enclosing the assembly.

Designed for More Even Heat Distribution

The document illustrates several possible heater-routing geometries intended to deliver more consistent temperatures across the centre and edges of the bed. More even heating could help reduce adhesion problems and warping at the corners of larger prints, but the application itself does not prove the scale of any practical improvement.

This Is Not a New Printer Announcement

This is a patent application, not a product launch or proof that a patent has been granted. It does not establish whether or when the design will appear in a commercial printer.

Long-term flatness after repeated heating cycles, heater serviceability and total manufacturing cost are among the practical questions that would need to be answered through future product information and testing.

Commodore 64 Ultimate Returns: A Retro Legend, Not a 3D-Printed One

Commodore.net has officially relaunched its legendary home computer as the Commodore 64 Ultimate, rebuilding the classic machine on modern FPGA hardware. We cover it here as a curiosity: it has no direct 3D printing angle, since the case is produced with classic injection molding using the original 1986 tooling, not 3D printing.

Anycubic Kobra 3 toolhead – successful firmware backup and the first steps toward a CAN-based Klipper toolboard

Anycubic Kobra 3 Toolhead Project – Another Milestone: Successful Firmware Backup and Preparing for a CAN-Based Toolboard Today marked another major milestone in the Anycubic Kobra 3 Toolhead project. Our objective is not to modify or preserve the original firmware. Instead, we are developing a completely custom firmware that will transform the factory controller board into a Klipper-compatible CAN Tool MCU with only minimal hardware modifications.
