OTR3DLab: full-scale tire and wheel prototypes by 3D printing

1 min read

OTR Engineered Solutions’ new OTR3DLab service targets rapid production of full-scale tire and wheel prototypes for vehicle testing.

OTR Engineered Solutions is bringing large-format 3D printing into tire and wheel development through its new OTR3DLab service, targeting full-scale prototypes for vehicle testing.

The value of 3D printing here is primarily rapid iteration rather than replacing series production. New geometries and surface designs can be produced physically before full-scale testing.

Prototyping as a development tool

The project illustrates how large-format additive manufacturing can create value even when the final production part will later be made using another process.
